You can access the Muso Black Book home page and browse our web site anonymously, without disclosing your personal information.
Collection and use of personal data
The Muso Black Book site does not collect or record personal information, other than information you choose to provide though our Muso Black Book Directory. On-line surveys may collect personal information as and when they occur.
Muso Black Book staff use personal information collected from email and online form sources to create and publish the Muso Black Book Directory database.
Email addresses and any other contact details you provide will not be added to a mailing list without your consent.
If you choose to not provide your information, we cannot include you in the directory.
Access and Correction
Requests for access to documents containing personal information and held by Muso Black Book are handled under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 and can be addressed to the Manager, Muso Black Book, 98 Lee St, Carlton North Victoria 3054, Australia.
If the Freedom of Information Act is not applicable, Muso Black Book will examine whether access can be given under IPP6, the access principle under the Information Privacy Act.
Should you wish to remove your entry from the Muso Black Book Directory, you can do so at any time upon request in writing, or via the website interface provided for this.
Disclosure
We will not disclose your personal information to a third party without your consent, unless we are required or authorised to do so by law or other regulation. Information published in the directory is freely available to the public. By submitting your information to the directory, you agree to allow personal information to be published in the directory, and made available to the public. In the event of an investigation into suspected unlawful or improper activity, a law enforcement agency or government agency may exercise its legal authority to inspect the web server's records (eg. in relation to hacking or abusive messages). Submitting personal information for inclusion into the Muso Black Book Directory gives consent for that information to be published on the Muso Black Book website for public access. Neither Muso Black Book nor it's operators and/or directors can be held liable for any actions resulting from public access to your information.
The following non-personal information (i.e. clickstream data) is automatically recorded by this site's web server for statistical and system administration purposes only:
your server address;
your IP (Internet Protocol) address;
your top level domain name (e.g. .com, .au, .gov);
the date and the time of your visit to the site;
the pages you accessed and downloaded;
the address of the last site you visited;
your operating system;
the type of browser you are using.
To the extent that this data could make you identifiable, Muso Black Book will not attempt to identify individuals from the records the server automatically generates unless that is necessary to investigate a breach of law or regulation.

The Privacy Commissioner and all employees of Muso Black Book have a statutory duty to deal with your personal information confidentially (Information Privacy Act, section 67).
